One fine afternoon…

“I like you, Waver.” Ann confessed to her long time crush.

“Huh? Eww! I’m sorry. But I don’t like dumb and ugly girls.” Waver insulted and just walked away.

Ann ran in tears. She bumps into a person who happens to be her best friend, Kira.

“Why are you crying? Don’t tell me you confessed your love already?” Kira asked

“Yeah… (Cries) he doesn’t like me back. He… he said I’m ugly and… and… dumb…” Ann cried.

“Don’t cry… you still have me… uhh… as your best friend of course”

“You really make me fine… I … want to go home now”

“Ok, I’ll walk you home.” Kira offered

The two walked until they have reached Ann’s house. Kira decided to tell her his feelings.

“Goodbye, Kira!”  Ann bade

“Good… Uhmm… WAIT!!!” Kira grabbed her hand.

“Huh?” Ann looked confused

“Ann … I don’t know if I will tell this or so… but my guts tell me to… I”

“Ann, welcome home!!!” a voice near the door said

“Mom?” Ann looked behind her

“Uh… I gotta go!” Kira bade goodbye and ran

“Kira!! What are you doing here, Mom? I thought…”

“I’m sorry to surprise you but because of an urgent situation. I had to go back here and to visit you of course.”

“And what is it?” Ann asked

“Your step dad and I will be traveling around the world and we couldn’t bring your step bro. So I’m leaving him with you.”

“My step… what?”

“Your stepbrother… remember your step dad’s son, Jay. He’ll be living with you now. So you better take good care of him.”

“But mom… I’m no babysitter,”

“He’s not a baby. And I know you’ll get along with each other. Oh I gotta go! Our flight will gonna be this midnight. Good luck!” she kissed her and went inside her car.

“MOM!! Mom!!! Tsk3x what a very unlucky day!! By the way… where’s that ba…by?” Ann said but she stopped to see the ‘baby’ lying on the sofa.

“Hey sis! Where’s our dinner?” he asked

“I… I haven’t cooked so you better…”

“Let’s just order. I’m hungry, stupid!!”  The last word made Ann annoyed.

“What!! Repeat that last word!!”

“Bleh! I don’t want to... I’ll just rest in my room. So just call me if food is ready.” Jay said as he walked away.

“he’s no baby and especially a master!!” Ann grumbled hoping this will end.

Early in the morning going to school,

“What!! Your step bro is living with you. And worst of it, he’s our classmate”

“Yah… we have the same age.”

“Maybe he is not that bad as you seem.” Kira assured

“You don’t know him and if you do. You’ll eat your words.” Ann snubbed

“Really?? This afternoon, are you going to your part-time job?” Kira asked

“Yah… I need to…”

“Ok… let’s go together later.” Kira offered with a smile

At the restaurant…

 “Hey Waver! I heard there’s a girl who confessed to you. Is that true?” a guy named Carl asked, who is Waver’s best friend.

“Yah... But I don’t like her. She’s just one of those bums, ugly and stupid hoping to get me. He-he” Waver said

            It happened to be that the restaurant is where Ann and Kira are working at. Unfortunately, Ann heard them.

“Whoa! I think she’s really dumb. Not knowing we’re talking about her right now.” Waver laughed.

BANG! – Ann banged the tray she’s holding in front of them.

“You’re not just heartless but ugly!” Ann shouted

“What? How dare you say that to me?” Waver responded

“Is she the girl, Waver?” Carl asked with confusion

“Yah … she’s the ugliest and the most stupid girl we’re talking about right now” Waver insulted

SLAP!

“Why did you do that to me” Waver asked as he touched his delicate face with a red slap mark. “I’ll teach you a lesson even if you’re a girl” Waver said raising his hand ready to hurt her. Ann closed her eyes.

“No!!” she shouted

“Don’t hurt her!!” a voice behind said as he held Waver’s hand

“Who the heck are you?” Waver asked

“I’m just a person who is willing to save this girl” he said as punched Waver.

“Oww” Waver fell in the floor

“Stay away from her or else.”

“Remember this stupid! I’ll get revenge sooner or later!” waver ran with Carl. Ann finally opened her eyes.

“Who…. J… Jay …”

“Come on!!”

“Ah wait! I have to go to Ki….” the man who helped who was really Jay asked the manager if she could take Ann home. After it, they headed back home.

“Uhmm Jay. Thanks for saving me. By the way how did you know I was there” Ann asked

“just passing by… heard you fighting with that guy so I had no choice but to save my sister from bullies… he-he” he joked as he went inside the house

“what?! Hey don’t turn your back … I don’t know if his presence is a blessing or a curse… but I think (heart beating fast) no… he is my brother through the law. She stomped inside.

Tomorrow…

“Jay, I’ll go now.” Ann informed

“Wait! I’ll go with you” Jay followed her

“Uhmm… Jay… did you agree that our parents got married?”

“Maybe… I have no power and I’m weak against love. It just appears if that person is the right one for you even if you’re family…”

“Huh? Even if you’re family…” Ann asked

“Uh... Forget about that phrase or sentence…” Jay changed the topic

“Ok. You know... I think you’re actually nice” Ann blushed

“Not actually. I’m a lil’ angel with a lil’ devil’s heart when it comes to love” Jay grinned

“Oh… do you like someone now? If so… who is she and why?”

“Why?? Because she is kind and she’s my first friend.”

“Ah… does she know you like her?” Ann asked

“Nope… she liked another guy even if I’m close to her.”

“Aww… that’s bad… by the way you want to go to the park tomorrow?” Ann invited

“Sure… only the two of us?”

“Nah with Kira of course.” Ann said as she entered the school gate

“That guy!” he clenched his fist.

            On the day at the park…

“Wee… riding a bike is fun!” Ann squealed with glee.

“Yah…” Kira answered

“It’s so boring!” Jay butted in

“Mean! Popcorn stalls! I’ll go get some food” Ann headed towards the stall.

“Hey Jay!!! Do you only treat Ann as your sister?” Kira asked

“Why? If I answer no, will you get jealous?”

“So you really like Ann…” Kira said

“What… It’s none of your business. But if you think so… you’re my rival” Jay replied

“You’ll never receive her heart. She only treats you as a brother not a lover.” Kira insulted

“I don’t care… I don’t want to force Ann to love me especially now… she just experienced a heart break.” Jay said

“Don’t get to boastful especially you’re on the same roof”

“Why?? He-he you’re not just jealous but very envious.” Jay teased back

“Why You!”  Kira was about to punch Jay but was stopped when Ann called them.

“Guys! Over here. Let’s eat” Ann called

“We’ll go there in a minute” Jay responded

“Remember Jay… we’re not finish ye” Kira reminded him.

Tomorrow…

“Jay let’s go!!” Ann called Jay

“I’ll go out first… (Opens door) Kira?”

“Can I walk you to school?” Kira asked

“But…” Ann said but stopped

“There’s no time left. We need to go!!” Kira grabbed her hand. As they we’re walking, Ann asked.

“What’s the problem, Kira?”

“Ann… I know you just experienced a heart break. But I want to tell you this. Whether you accept me or not, I wan to tell you that….”

“ANN!! WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME?” Jay arrived

“Huh? Jay… yeah… I forgot.” Ann reasoned out

“Ann, let’s go!” Jay held her hand but Kira grabbed the other.

“No! I’m with her! You have no right!” Kira shouted

“I have a right because she’s my sister and I love her!” Jay finally confessed. There was a total silence.

“Huh? Jay is that true?” Ann asked

“Sorry, Ann but I can’t just love you as a sister… it’s”

“Jay… stop it! Those are lies! We’re Family! Kira let’s go!” Anne took Kira. Kira gave a mean glare to Jay.

The whole day was a total blizzard for Ann. Jay didn’t attend class.

“Kira… I’m worried…” Ann said

“Don’t be. I’m here for you” Kira hugged her. Ann cried.

            Jay didn’t go home for two weeks. When he arrived, he was with a girl. She was waiting outside wearing a mini skirt. Jay left his old clothes and went outside. Ann stopped him.

“Jay, where are you going? Who is she? You just got home”

“Heh! It’s none of your business, Stupid!”

“How could you!” Ann almost cried.

“Hey Jay! Don’t ever make Ann cry!” Kira appeared

“So…” Jay was interrupted with a punch

“When I say don’t make Ann cry, I mean it! Before, you said you’ll always save her but what happen now?”

“Ha? When was that?” Jay laughed

“Stop it the two of you!” Ann shouted “let’s go, Kira!”

            Jay with a girl went to a place while Kira and Ann talked.

“You ok?” Ann asked

“Yah. This bruise is not that severe.” Kira assured

“Uhmm… Kira, I remember you want to say something before...”

“Huh? Ehh…. Uhh... It’s kind of … but since you’re asking it… Ann I… like…”

“You like me?” Ann blushed.

“Yah gotta go! Kira tried to go.

“Kira, wait! What if we try dating?” Ann blushed even more.

“Sure? Yes!!”

            The next day, Jay finally went back to school but he didn’t bother Ann. He changed a lot from attitude and personality.

            Ann and Kira ate lunch together.

“Kira… Jay sure is flirting with other girls. He … he never talks to me now… he”

“Jay again… I’ve been hearing his name the whole day. Can you stop it?” Kira reasoned

“But Kira… I’m just worried.” Ann defended

“Worried? Or why don’t you just admit it or tell me you like him.” Kira angered

“Kira, it’s not what I mean…” Ann assured

“Really, then what’s the use of this ‘relationship’ if you keep on mentioning that guy’s name.” Kira walked out

“Kira, wait!! Huh?”

“He-he… ha-ha, Abandoned by her boyfriend, how ironic!” Jay laughed and left

“Jay… Kira” Ann cried and ran towards the C.R.

            The next day

“Kira I… I made you lunch… a sign of my apology”

“Ann I really can’t stay mad at you. Here… let’s eat together!”

The two make up and decided to forget the fight.

            The day after

“Jay, I’ll go out with Kira. So you better worry about your food… ok? Huh? Sleeping… his face looked like being abandoned.” Ann said as she went out the house. She didn’t know that Jay is awake that time. Kira and Ann had a date. Visit and tour a park until evening arrives. They decided to see the stars lying on the beach.

“This place is so beauteous, right Ann?” Kira asked.

“Yah… so quiet and peaceful” Ann replied.

“I promised myself that this place will be the place I will proposed my girl in the future.” Kira said

“huh!? She sure is lucky!” Ann responded

“You’re really dense! Come here… you” Kira started tickling Ann. But Ann mentioned a name that made Kira stopped.

“Hey stop it … stop it JAY!!” Ann went red because of laughing.

“What… what did you say? Jay?” Kira said

“Kira, I mean… I’m sorry.” Ann apologized

“No Ann.  I’ve felt enough. All this time I’m hoping you’ll like me but I guess I’m wrong. I hoped and hoped but it’s impossible.”

“Kira… I’m …” Ann said but interrupted.

“Ann, don’t lie to me or to you. Jay is not just your brother. He’s the one you’re in love with. When he changed, you asked me even though it means to make him jealous. I still accepted hoping it will bloom but now…I can sense your pain more. Go! Go back to him!  Love can never be stopped by the law.” Kira looked away.

“Kira… thanks”

“Ann… Go immediately! He told me to date you because he’s leaving. He used this day so that you will not cry.”

“Kira… you’re really my best friend.” Ann hugged him and ran away.

“Ann, be happy” Kira faked a smile.

            Ann called their house but no one answered.

“I hope I can make it. No wonder. He packed his clothes and things. Jay you promised me… Awww…” Ann bumped into a person

“Hey! Isn’t that stupid!?”

“Waver?” Ann looked.

“He-he… How’s your savior? Ha-ha… scared already?”

“Don’t waster my time.” Ann tried to run

“Not so fast… stop babbling!!” Waver shouted

“No, I won’t!!!!”

“You won’t… eh… Then I’ll shut it up!!”

 “Don’t hurt her!!” a voice came.

“Ehh? Whoa!! A new savior?” Waver joked.

“Let go of her. I’m a prosecutor. Hitting a girl is punishable by law.” The man said

“You’re really lucky, stupid! Come on let’s go.” Waver left the place.

“Thank you, mister but I really need to go.”

“ok.” The man replied and smiled. Ann went to the train station.

“Excuse me… where’s…”

“Sorry but it left an hour ago.” The guard said

“But...” the gate was closed “Why is this happening? The time I realized I love him is the day he left. Kira let go of me. Waver fooled me and I thought… Jay….”

“will save you.”

“Huh? That voice…” she looked behind.

“Ann”

“Jay!!” Ann ran towards him and hugged him “I thought you left me…”

“I kind of realized that I can’t love another girl besides you.” Jay smiled

“But you told me that you’ll always save me. But that time… it’s a prose…”

“He’s my uncle. I asked him to look for you and to tell me if you’re just fine on your date.” 

“You’re unfair! But you did hurt me. Flirt with those girls.” Ann snubbed

“Its … for making you jealous.” Jay laughed.

“Bad!! But I’m glad you’re here. I… I…” Ann blushed.

“I love you too.” Jay gave a peck.

“But we’re bro…”

“I don’t care… remember… love can only struck us one time and touched us a life time. Whether we are siblings or not, I will still continue to love you. That is love. No worries and regrets. I chose this so I will stand my decision. No law or rule can stop me from loving you.” Jay hugged her

“Jay, I love you and I’m lucky that we’re not really blood-related.” Ann hugged him back. “And I thank Mom for letting me babysat you.”

“He-he…” Jay laughed.

“A bro’s love is really firm and strong and I’m lucky to have one.” Ann said while holding hands with Jay.

Days passed, Kira found a new love. Waver got hit by the waves and for Ann and Kira. You can imagine it by yourself. Happy Ending!!!
